After being divorced, I began to couch surf with some friends that had become more like family. I had been injured in a car accident, a stolen car, no insurance, no license operator ran directly into my drivers door, while I was sitting at the stop sign on Desert Inn and Seminole. I lost my job at Sprint PCS on Flamingo, I began to sell tstrings for a company based out of Woodbury, New York named What's Hot! on commission only, while I was an independent contractor of Sprint/Nextel service. Things were slow and bad at this time. One day I ventured to the Blue Diamond desert in Las Vegas, Nevada for some peace of mind and solitude. During my visit in the desert, I began to Pray and ask God ; What am I supposed to do ? Where am I supposed to go ? Mind thee, its 120 degrees broad daylight at this time. I hearkened unto the voice of God...and the words " Xtremely Hot " was breathed into my ear. The next step was to research with the United States Patent and Trademark office ( USPTO). Initially, I thought I would be the first to have the name, however I wound up being second to the Edison brothers, the owners of a $1.5b conglomerate composed of clothing and entertainment like Dave and Busters and Wild Pair . The Edison brothers never used the Xtremely Hot name on any garments, nor was any artwork associated with the name. Ironic enough, the Edison brothers abandoned the Xtremely Hot trademark in 2003, and I, John W. Davis started my journey with Xtremely Hot circa 2006-07. TGBTG

Having a clothing brand wasnt even on the radar yet. The main focus was active and static banner ads. From a marketing perspective, we had already identified the Xtremely Hot name would enhance any product or service , whether it was already hot or not. Were living in an extreme world, where being hot is perceived as the best. And if that is so the case, then Xtremely Hot is the hottest brand name in the world, where the flames of its fire is for cleansing and purifying of many skills and professions for many men and women around the world. I started going to different networking functions around Las Vegas in hopes of finding an opportunity, before you know it, I found myself at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa where there was a marketing event taking place. As I entered the convention area, I met a guy that felt like his organization was a good fit with the brand name Xtremely Hot, as I did as well. Low and behold, we signed a 3 year deal with the Las Vegas Gladiators in 2006-07 for seasons (2006-2009)
Healing was painful and slow. My ability to walk had been rendered, and I was having to peel my fingers apart individually in order to use them. In 2007, I thought I was dying. I drove back to Poplar Bluff, Mo. from Las Vegas, Nevada with about 24 hours of continuous driving . Just me and my dog Trouble (RIP). Within 2 months, I was homeless in my own home town of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, my dog died, and I collapsed in North Lilburn, Mo., and was paralyzed from the neck down. I was taken to the Veterans Administration hospital in Memphis, Tn., where I was admitted , prior to having C-spine surgery. The doctor removed 2 disc from my upper vertabrae ( neck ) , and replaced them with steel plates and screws, in order to relieve the severe damage that had been placed on my spinal cord.
TGBTG, I am walking today with a cane/staff that God Blessed me with in 2017. I lost everything, but He restored me. And now, I continue to heal and share my testimony of how good God has been to me. In 2008, I started working for my former PBHS basketball point guard John David Patillo at JDP Designs in Poplar Bluff, Mo. as a screen cleaner in exchange to pay for artwork to be done for Xtremely Hot that I couldn't afford initially. At this point, I would be united with Jody Cheek, the artist that would help me create and design the Xtremely Hot brand. Needless to say, Jody Cheek is still the senior artist for the Xtremely Hot brand. Even though Xtremely Hot's first graphic artist is Ricky Holmes of Detroit, Michigan by way of Las Vegas, Nevada 2007.
After being released from the VA hospital in Memphis, Tn., I drove back to Howardville, Mo., and proceeded to open my nite-life entertainment club named " Buck City ". While wearing a medical halo for protection , and my Ruger .45, I proceeded to open the club with hip hop, rap, dirty south beats and soul in the Bootheel of Missouri located off of I-55. DJ Bones of Hayti, Mo., was on the wheels of steel, mixing music and keeping the party on fleek. The club business started off very slow, but when the season changed from fall to winter, the crowd began to patronize the club.
I went from nothing to thousands in a weekend alone. Amazing, is what I was thinking at the time. As success was rearing its head in the club business, some local street entrepreneur decided he could take over my club by disrupting the agreement between myself and the property owner/ founder of the original ' Bucks Most " Night Club Richard " Buck " Anderson, which so happened to be my 2nd cousin on my father's side of the family. My cousin raised my rent astronomically , while refusing to give me a lease or contract on the property. This is when I hearkened unto the voice of God again, and He told me to leave the club business alone. So I did, the people from miles and miles, would beg me to open the club back up. It is at this point that I told the people, if you want to meet me at the club, i'll be at Church...God's club. Since that day, I have not been back in the club business, and the club I once was thriving with , has yet to re-open til this day. I went from nothing , to making thousands at the door on the weekend, to losing it all for the sake of God, and beginning a new life of living in a elderly apartment in Portageville, Mo., while living off of $435.00 a month ( VA Disability ). At this point, I had become Xtremely Hot for Jesus ! I decided back then, that I would rather have Jesus than silver and gold !
Why be regular ?
After being removed from the club scene, I embarked on a new mission. I was led to open a retail store in Portageville, Mo.. I had never done retail before, so all of this was brand spanking new to me. I didnt get the support like in the club business, but I tried to make a positive indelible impact on society. I failed miserably, which led me to eventually relocate to the metropolitan Atlanta region. In hopes of more population and hopefully a great opportunity for my brand to be launched and adored by multitudes is what I was thinking. Was I wrong, damn right I was wrong.
There was no support, everyone was a competitor. Jealousy and envy continued to lurk around all the corners I turned, and unfortunately jealousy and envy lurks inside your supposedly close loved ones. Who needs enemies with family like that. Wow !, what an eye opener.
